On May 27th in federal court, 49-year-old Denise Manco of Little Egg Harbor Township pleaded guilty to one count of distributing and possessing with the intent to distribute methamphetamine. Earlier this month, she was sentenced to 151 months, or about 12 1/2 years, behind bars.
Undercover Officers Purchased Methamphetamine Pill
Officials said from August 2022 through March 2023, undercover law enforcement officers executed several controlled purchases of pills from Manco. Manco presented those pills as containing ecstasy or MDMA, but in fact contained methamphetamine.
Officers also executed a search warrant at her home where they seized a variety of controlled substances and various items associated with drug manufacturing and distribution, including binding powder, scales, and glassine bags.
"Career offender"
Manco's prior state convictions for distribution of controlled substances and manslaughter qualified her to be sentenced as a "career offender," significantly increasing her sentencing.
In addition to the prison term, Manco will be on supervised release for 5 years after she is released from prison.
