Dollar Tree Egg Harbor Twp. Store Is Open: Prices Are $1.25
The official name hasn’t changed.
For the record, it’s still The Dollar Tree store.
The only difference? The items now cost $1.25 each.
The company says that this is not a result of the current massive inflation that has taken Dollar Tree to The $1.25 Tree Store.
This is a company strategy in order to compete with other stores in this bargain price items space.
In their 4th Quarter, 2021 quarterly earnings release, Dollar Tree reported its decision to permanently raise prices to $1.25 is, “not a reaction to short-term or transitory market conditions.”
Adhering to the $1.00 price was forcing them to stop selling some of their customers' favorite items.
In a sign of our changing times, the change would one day be inevitable.
Dollar Tree had been able to sell all of its items for just $1.00 for 35 years. That’s an enduring record for longevity and consistency.
Dollar Tree has staked out its turf in cities, while rival Dollar Genreal has focused more on rural areas.
Dollar Tree may be the last if it’s kind to sell all items in the store for $1.00.
Dollar Tree has been moving away from only selling $1.00 products over the past few years.
Dollar Tree is adamant that the decision to go to $1.25 is not a temporary reaction to the current inflationary conditions.
Some financial market analysts doubt this contention.
I’m giving them the absolute benefit of the doubt and only left to wonder … when will the “catchy” $1.25 Store signs will be erected?
