In another great event today, North Wildwood Mayor Patrick T. Rosenello is presenting Mable Jaworski with a special proclamation on the occasion of her 100th Birthday today.

We caught-up with Mayor Rosenello, who told us:

Mabel is a shining example of the greatest generation and it is one of the greatest honors I have had as mayor to get to know her and to be able to celebrate her 100th birthday with her, said Mayor Rosenello.

At age 20, Jaworski begged her father to serve her country when she found out that the United States military was in need of teletype and telephone operators.

Jaworski learned how to assemble and disassemble a portable switchboard and she was ultimately promoted to the rank of Sergeant and then headed overseas.

Sergeant Jaworski arrived to London, England during the time of the U2 bombings.

She was assigned to serve in Paris, France under the direction of General Dwight Eisenhower.

When the war ended, Sargeant Jaworski stayed in Paris, France for one more year and trained French civilians.

She returned home in April, 1946 and began her job at Bell Telephone.

In honor of her amazing life story … The Mayor and Council proclaim that …

for reaching this historic milestone and "living a wonderful life", And do hereby proclaim May 13, 2024 as “Mable Jaworski Day" in the City of North Wildwood!
