Authorities say a Camden County man who was assaulted earlier this month has died and cops are still searching for the assailant.

Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill Mayer says on the morning of Tuesday, July 6th, Camden County Metro Police were dispatched to the area of 7th and Pine Streets in Camden for the report of an aggravated assault. There, officers found 53-year-old Edward Dupont of Camden unconscious. Mayer says witnesses reported Dupont was, "struck in the head by an unknown male, causing Dupont to fall off his bicycle and strike his head on the pavement."

Dupont was taken to Cooper Hospital for treatment; he died from his injuries this past Sunday.

Officials say, "after performing an autopsy on Dupont, the medical examiner determined the cause of death to be complications of a head injury and the manner of death to be homicide."

NJ arrests 31 accused child predators in "Operation 24/7"

A roundup of 31 men have been accused of sexually exploiting children online, state Attorney General Gurbir Grewal announced on July 14 while detailing "Operation 24/7."

The suspects “possessed and or distributed videos and images of child sexual abuse, including in many cases videos of young children being raped by adults,” Grewal said.

Chat apps and gaming platforms remain favorite hunting grounds for child predators and even as the pandemic winds down, many children have continued to spend more time online.

State Police received 39% more tips in just the first 6 months of 2021 than they received in the entire year in 2019. The following are suspects charged in "Operation 24/7."
