Mays Landing, N.J. — An Egg Harbor City man has pleaded guilty to drug distribution and weapons charges stemming from two separate incidents, including a search of two residences that turned up drugs packaged for street-level sale, two firearms, and nearly $6,000 in cash.

24-year-old Juan Gomez entered his plea Monday. The agreement calls for five years in state prison with a one-year period of parole ineligibility, followed by a consecutive five-year flat sentence for a total of ten years.

Two Incidents

According to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office, on March 3, 2025, law enforcement searched two residences suspected of being used in Gomez's drug distribution operation.

Officers located two firearms, one reported stolen from North Carolina, along with 96 grams of cocaine, 39 grams of methamphetamine, 27 alprazolam pills, 50 Suboxone films, and $5,952 in cash. The controlled dangerous substances were packaged for individual street-level sale. Gomez was arrested but released.

On May 14, 2025, officers observed Gomez conducting a drug transaction, stopped him, and found eight grams of methamphetamine and one gram of cocaine on his person.

As part of his plea, Gomez admitted to possessing controlled dangerous substances with the intent to distribute on two separate occasions and possessing a handgun while distributing CDS.

The cases were investigated by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office with assistance from local police departments.
