• A man shot and killed his estranged wife inside an Egg Harbor Township nursing home Monday morning before shooting himself, according to authorities.

Authorities have released more details about the shooting at a nursing home in Egg Harbor Township on Monday morning.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said that at around 6 AM, EHT police officers were called to the Excelcare Rehabilitation Facility at 6818 Delilah Road for a report of a shooting.

According to officials, an investigation determined that 35-year-old Brandon Alexander of Minotola shot and killed his estranged wife, 38-year-old Victoria Alexander, also of Minotola.

How the Shooting Unfolded

Based on the investigation thus far, authorities said it appears Brandon Alexander waited in the Excelcare parking lot for Victoria Alexander to arrive for work, where she was a nurse.

Once she arrived, Mr. Alexander pulled up and blocked her in. The prosecutor's office said he then entered her vehicle and left two suicide notes on her dashboard. A food delivery truck driver then asked Mr. Alexander to move his vehicle.

At that time, Mrs. Alexander was able to get out of her car and run into the building. Authorities said Mr. Alexander followed her inside, where he shot her several times before shooting himself.

Victoria Alexander was pronounced dead at the scene. Brandon Alexander was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division; he died from his injuries early Tuesday morning.
