
Atlantic City Man Suffers Traumatic Injuries in Black Horse Pike Crash
Egg Harbor Township, N.J. — An Atlantic City man was injured in a single-vehicle crash on the Black Horse Pike Thursday morning.
The Egg Harbor Township Police Department says at about 8:15, its officers were called out to the area of the Black Horse Pike and Brenta Avenue in West Atlantic City.
Vehicle Drifted Off Black Horse Pike in West Atlantic City
According to authorities, 63-year-old Joseph Morro of Atlantic City was driving a 2007 Pontiac Vibe eastbound on the Black Horse Pike when the vehicle drifted off the roadway into the shoulder where it hit a temporary traffic construction sign and a utility pole. The impact with the pole caused the vehicle to rotate and overturn onto its driver side, coming to rest in the eastbound lanes.
Driver Had To Be Extricated
Morro sustained non-life threatening, traumatic injuries and had to be extricated from the vehicle by several local fire departments. He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division's Trauma Unit for treatment.
Traffic was detoured for about 90 minutes while the crash was investigated and cleared.
The accident remains under investigation and any witnesses are asked to contact EHT Police at (609) 926-5200.
