For years, when you drove through Absecon, you would see one hotel/motel after another, but not many other businesses.

Talk to people who live in the area, and they're starving for more.

Changes don't happen overnight, but given time, they do happen.  You'll find an example of that in Absecon, near the corner of White Horse Pike and N. New Road.

What was once an empty lot, is now the beautiful new home of Whitehorse Liquors, Lola's (coffee shop), and Chipotle.

Whitehorse Wine & Spirits has been a popular business for years.  They had been located a couple of miles up the road.

Now they're in a brand new building, and if the parking lot indicates their success, it appears their decision to move was wise.

This past week, two new businesses have opened.

Lola's is a coffee Shop located next to Whitehorse Wine & Spirits.  Posters on Facebook have already given them high marks.

People love the quaint interior of Lola's and have said the food is delicious.  Lola's is open each day until 3.

In a separate building in front of Whitehorse Wine & Spirits, is a brand new Chipoltle.

Chipoltle is an international chain of restaurants specializing in Mexican favorites.  Most customers have come to appreciate the flavorful bowls that are prepared right in front of you.

They also serve tacos and burritos.

The move of Whitehorse Wine & Spirits left a gaping hole in their old location.  Those who have been clamoring for a discount supermarket may get their wish.

My sources have told me that Aldi's will be coming to that location.  Workers have been busy retrofitting the interior of the building.

As I write this, I've been unable to reach Aldi's corporate office for confirmation.  I'll do a follow-up as soon as I get a confirmation.

These are great additions to Absecon.  Now it's up to the residents to support these businesses and show the business community that Absecon is a profitable area to invest in.
