Here's an urgent message for anyone that recently bought kerosene from the Riggins station on Route 9 South in Cape May Court House -- gasoline was accidentally mixed with kerosene in the station's tanks.

According to officials, on April 24th a delivery of gas was accidentally placed into the kerosene tank at that gas station. Since then, approximately 85 gallons of the kerosene mixed with gas has been sold. It is extremely important that this mixture is not used as it is an extreme fire hazard, especially if used in kerosene heaters.

The Middle Township Police Department is attempting to locate anyone who purchased kerosene at the Riggins station at 401 Route 9 South in Cape May Court House between April 24th and May 10th. They have been able to reach some people -- but not everyone.

Anyone who may have purchased kerosene from the Riggins in Cape May Court House between April 24th and May 10th is asked to contact the Middle Township Police Department immediately at (609) 465-8700. Riggins asks anyone who purchased this mixture return it to that location or call their main office at (856) 825-7600.
