Authorities say a teenager was killed in a collision between an e-bike and a vehicle in Atlantic County late Thursday evening.

According to the Somers Point Police Department, the incident happened just before 8 PM where the bike path crosses Maryland Avenue.

Victim and Medical Response

A brief social media post by the department says a 14-year-old from Egg Harbor Township was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's Trauma Unit in Atlantic City before being airlifted to Cooper Hospital where he died from his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, 47-year-old Laryssa Foschini of Philadelphia, and her three juvenile passengers were not injured.

Investigation Continues

Police say neither speed nor alcohol are believed to be factors and the collision remains under investigation by their department with assistance from the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
