Flyers GM Chuck Fletcher made his first roster move last Friday when he sent Jordan Weal to Arizona for Jacob Graves and a sixth round pick. He made his second trade on Thursday.

The Flyers have traded forward Taylor Leier to the Buffalo Sabres for forward Justin Bailey, Fletcher announced on Thursday night.

Bailey, 23, has played in 37 games for the Rochester Americans of the AHL, scoring nine goals and 20 points. The 6'4", 214-pound forward split time between Rochester and the Sabres in each of the last three seasons.

Last season, he played in 12 games for the Sabres, scoring three goals and adding an assist. In 52 career NHL games, Bailey has five goals and eight points.

Bailey was selected in the second round of the 2013 NHL Draft with the 52nd overall pick.

Leier, 24, had 10 goals and 19 points with the Phantoms this season. He played in 39 games for the Flyers last season, scoring one goal and five points. In 55 career games with the Flyers, Leier had two goals and seven points. In 226 games with the Phantoms, he had 56 goals and 136 points.

Leier was a 2012 fourth-round pick by the Flyers.

The Flyers face the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
