Food & Wine Says This Is The Best Fast Food Restaurant in NJ
Earlier this week, Food & Wine posted an article titled, "The Best Fast Food in Every State."
You're probably familiar with, or have at least heard of some of their picks --- like In & Out in California, Waffle House in Georgia, Whataburger in Texas, Five Guys in Virginia, and Shake Shack in New York.
Local favorites, Wawa and Dunkin', were also mentioned. Wawa as Pennsylvania's best fast food and Dunkin' as the best in Massachusetts.
Any guesses on their choice for Best Fast Food in New Jersey?
It's Jersey Mike's. Food & Wine says Jersey Mike's is "one of the best scaled-up reproductions of the classic Tri-State area Italian sub in existence, with cold cuts still sliced to order, and all the oil, vinegar and cherry pepper relish."
According to jerseymikes.com, the sub shop started in 1956 in Point Pleasant. (At the time, it was called Mike's Sub Shop). Today, there are over 1,600 Jersey Mike's locations around the world.
