5 South Jersey Gas Stations Join Freedom Fuel Network
Egg Harbor Township, N.J. — Two gas stations in Egg Harbor Township are among five South Jersey locations that have joined the Freedom Fuel Network, a program announced by President Trump just before the Fourth of July.
The program, which Trump announced on his Truth Social platform, included about two dozen gas stations in and around the greater Philadelphia area to slash prices on July 3rd as what he called a "gift" to drivers.
Initially, the participating locations were not identified; however, that changed over the holiday weekend.
Freedom Fuel Network Debuts in South Jersey
Shortly before sunrise Monday morning, workers at the Upgrading Image gas station at Tilton and Fire Roads in EHT were installing large "Freedom Fuel Network" signs on their overhead canopy.

About 40 Cents/Gallon Cheaper
Over the holiday weekend, regular unleaded gas at that station was selling for about 40 cents per gallon less than stations in the area, including at Royal Farms right across the street.
Monday morning, before that station opened, the price on the pump was $3.479. Royal Farms, just across the street, had regular unleaded for $3.859, which was within a few pennies of most other stations. That represented a savings of about $6 on a typical 15-gallon fill-up.
According to AAA, the average price for regular unleaded across New Jersey was $3.799.
Why Gas Prices are High
As drivers are well aware, gas prices have been on a rollercoaster over the past several months. Prices at the pump jumped roughly a dollar a gallon between March and mid-June following the start of the conflict in Iran, then fell back about 50 cents as shipping resumed through the Strait of Hormuz.

Eric Blomgren, executive director of the New Jersey Energy Marketers group, speaking to New Jersey 101.5 late last week, said not to expect prices to snap back overnight. Wholesale costs are still about 90 cents/gallon higher than they were before the war, meaning retailers are still selling fuel they purchased at higher wholesale prices.
Blomgren also said that he wasn't aware of any Garden State companies participating. However, a list on the Freedom Fuel Network website shows five locations.
