The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed that a Galloway Township, New Jersey man has been indicted for attempted murder of a police officer during an alleged knife attack.

Regarding the indictment, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said:

On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, Keith Kiminsky, 31, of Galloway Township, NJ, was indicted by an Atlantic County Grand Jury for attempted murder and associated aggravated assault, resisting arrest, obstruction and weapons offenses related to an incident that occurred on April 7, in 2024, in Galloway Township. On April 7, 2024, Galloway Police Officers responded to 307 Cresson Avenue for a 911 verification. There were several prior calls to 911 that resulted in hang ups and police were checking on the occupants. Upon arrival by police, Kiminsky came out of the house and attacked one of the officers with a serrated knife by slashing him in the face. Kiminsky then fought with the officers on the ground for several minutes, not dropping the knife even when the officers demanded that he stop resisting. Other officers were injured as well.

The knife wound to officer was so severe, that his mouth and teeth were exposed.

The officer required emergency surgery and the gash on the officer’s face was very near his carotid artery.

This remains under investigation case by the

  • Galloway Township Police Department
  • Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office's Major Crimes Unit
  • Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office's Forensic Crimes Unit.

Kiminsky is being held at the Atlantic County Jail, until the resolution of the criminal charges.
