Galloway Twp., NJ, Motorcyclist Killed in Head-on Crash
A Galloway Township man on a motorcycle was killed in a head-on crash last Friday night.
Authorities say the accident happened just after 7:30 on Route 9 (South New York Road), roughly between Leeds Point and Moss Mill Roads, near the Galloway Township Elks Club building.
Motorcycle Collides With SUV
The Galloway Township Police Department says their preliminary investigation revealed a 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle, being driven by 31-year-old Kenneth Chivalette of Galloway Township, was traveling southbound on New York Road when he collided head-on with a 2021 Kia Seltos, driven by 35-year-old Nicole A. Ciccone, also of Galloway.
Victim Dies at Hospital
Chivalette was taken to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center-City Division, where he later died from his injuries.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing. Anyone with information or witnesses is asked to call Ofc. Cody Trout at (609) 652-3705.
Police Urge Road Safety Awareness
In a social media post, the department offered this reminder:
Every day we share the roadways not only with other cars and trucks; but with motorcycles, e-bikes, bicycles and pedestrians. As we enter the final months of the year, the colder temperatures and weather events make the roadways a little more challenging. Be aware of your surroundings, stay focused, put phones down and avoid distractions at all times.
