A fire at Sure Storage on Chestnut Street in Somers Point early Thursday, January 30th, proved to be very costly to Somers Point's Gateway Playhouse.

A GoFundMe post from Gateway Playhouse says the theater stored many of its stage materials in the facility.

Our friends at the Sure Storage facility suffered a devastating fire which destroyed four units housing the costumes, props, and sets utilized by Shaken Not Stirred Players and Fool Moon Theatre at the Gateway Playhouse, and shared with Somers Point Schools, and Middle Township High School.

With no storage facilities available to us at the present time,  we ask for your financial assistance in rebuilding the tools that have allowed us to tell our stories, show after show.

The GoFundMe campaign hopes to raise $15,000 to replace costumes, antique props, and other vintage set items that took over two decades to curate.
So far, the campaign has raised over $3,100.
Would you like to help the theater community in South Jersey bring the heart and soul these props provided back into their work after this devastating fire?
