Crews Battle Heavy Smoke at Goodwill Store Fire in Egg Harbor Township, NJ
Firefighters had their hands full at a blaze at the Goodwill Store located off of the old Cardiff Circle in Egg Harbor Township Monday afternoon.
The Egg Harbor Township Police Department says crews were called to the store on the Black Horse Pike around 1:30.
Upon arrival, officers observed smoke coming from the building while employees were attempting to evacuate the business.
According to a press release,
The Egg Harbor Township Volunteer Fire Department deployed multiple fire engines, ladder trucks, and support personnel to address the situation. Fire personnel faced heavy smoke, but were able to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighboring businesses.
Fire companies from Northfield and Pleasantville were also on the scene to support EHT firefighters.
As a result, the store remained closed for the rest of the day.
The Egg Harbor Township Fire Inspection Unit is actively investigating the cause of the fire.
No injuries were reported.
