Gun Goes Off at Youth Basketball Game in Atlantic City

Atlantic City Police are attempting to track-down a juvenile who dropped a gun, which caused it to discharge, at a youth basketball game Thursday night.

Cops say just before 9:00, at the end of a youth rec basketball game at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Complex, an unknown juvenile dropped a handgun on the floor causing it to discharge. An officer, who was already on scene, responded to the commotion caused by the crowd that began to run out of the gym.

A handgun was located on the floor and there were no injuries reported.

Detectives of the Street Crimes Unit are actively investigating this incident in an attempt to identify the juvenile. Anyone with information is asked to call the ACPD at (609) 347-5766.
