During a press conference Friday, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City announced that it will donate $200,000 to local charities.

Executives Jim Allen and Joe Lupo presented checks for $20,000 each to benefit the Atlantic City Rescue Mission, Atlantic City Police Foundation, Avenzar women's outreach, Covenant House, and Turning Point Day Center for the Homeless and then gave the good news that the donations would doubled to $40,000 each.

Atlantic City Mayor Frank Gilliam was also on hand to thank Hard Rock for it's commitment to the community and to announce that from here on, June 28th will officially become 'Hard Rock Day' in Atlantic City.

Execs pointed out that in it's first year of business, the hotel and casino ranked #2 in revenue every month and vowed to continue investing in the property, including renovations to Hard Rock's ballroom.

While we were overjoyed to watch Hard Rock endow many local charities with some much needed donations, we can't help but point out one stellar moment of the press conference: the arrival of men (escorted by AC Police and S.W.A.T) holding briefcases full of cash totaling $1 million dollars, which one lucky Hard Rocker will win before the end of summer.
