We Have Learned More

We have obtained a copy of a detailed letter that has sent out last evening regarding the multiple house fires and the origin … to the extent that they can … as it is currently under investigation. Here’s the letter.

Subject: Tavistock House Fire today - 39 Gasko, 37 Gasko and 41 Gasko

Hello Everyone,

As I'm sure many of you have heard, there was a house fire this afternoon in Tavistock that destroyed two homes and badly damaged an additional home. The fire began in the garage of 39 Gasko and the fierce winds quickly spread it to 37 Gasko. 41
Gasko also was damaged during this horrific event. I stopped out around 4pm to touch base with the firemen, investigators and the Detective with the Hamilton Police Department and learned that the fire started in the garage and the cause of the fire is still under investigation, but it was not the result of negligence. I got confirmation from the Detective that the gas, electric and water were all turned off at all three homes.
THANKFULLY, no one was taken from us or injured during this tragedy. But sadly, two homeowners are experiencing a new reality with little to no possessions salvageable from their home. The Red Cross was quick to assist all three homeowners with alternate accommodations. I will be on site tomorrow and am hoping to reach out to the owners to see how we can help best as a community with small gestures of clothing, personal hygiene products, towels, etc. I will provide information to the community tomorrow for those that wish to help.
SERVPRO was on site today as well and will be working with the owners to get a plastic security fence up tomorrow around 37 and 39 Gasko which would act as a warning barrier to anyone attempting to enter the homes. It is unsafe to enter or approach 37 and 39 Gasko and no one should attempt to do so. I asked the Detective if he could have patrol cars pass through a few times tonight to make sure there are no shenanigans this evening and he agreed to set that up.
