“Hurley in the Morning” has learned and confirmed that Hamilton Township (Atlantic County) Administrator Arch Liston will leave to accept a position within Trenton City government.

Liston has been well thought of by the state for a number of years. This is the second time in recent memory that Liston will leave a city level position to take a job in Trenton.

Liston was also the City Administrator in Atlantic City when the state came calling for his professional services.

The Atlantic City position is a “meat grinder.”

To quote Frank Sinatra … “If you can make it there… You can make it anywhere.“

Liston will now be leaving Hamilton Township, where he remains very well thought of.

Hamilton Township Mayor Charles Cain and his colleagues on The Township Committee conducted a very methodical and comprehensive  selection process, before deciding on Liston about 1 1/2 years ago.

It remains unknown if Hamilton Township will start the selection process all over again, or, seek to draw from the candidate finalists from the last round of interviews.

Before ultimately deciding on Liston, they had several excellent candidates in the mix.

Mayor Cain exclusively said to us about Liston: “It’s been a pleasure working with such a fine professional as Arch. I believe that we have accomplished a lot together, he will be a tough person to replace,” said Cain.

”We wish Arch well and it remains our job to continue to serve the citizens of Hamilton Township in the highly competent manner that they deserve,” said Cain.
