Hurley: State Takes Full Operational Control of Atlantic City From Mayor Frank Gilliam
WPG's Harry Hurley has learned and confirmed that the state of New Jersey has seized total control of the City of Atlantic City from Mayor Frank Gilliam, who is currently under federal criminal investigation.
Multiple well placed sources have also confirm to "Hurley in the Morning" that the charges the federal government is investigating regarding Gilliam allegedly include:
- Tax Evasion
- Money Laundering
- Campaign Finance Violations
- Official Misconduct
...along with other potential charges.
Our well placed sources have advised that it will be "next to impossible" for Gilliam to remain as Mayor of Atlantic City when, "the dust settles on many serious allegations that are pending disposition."
Should Gilliam have to vacate his pubic office, Atlantic City Council President Marty Small will immediately become the Acting Mayor of Atlantic City.
The Atlantic City Democratic Committee then has the responsibility to nominate three candidates for Atlantic City Council to choose a mayor. This is followed by a special election that would be for the remainder of Gilliam's term, should Gilliam have to vacate his office.
Atlantic City Council President Marty Small will be appearing on "Hurley in the Morning" for the entire 7:00 hour, on Thursday, January 3, 2019, on WPG Talk Radio 104.1 FM, 1450 AM, 97.3-HD3, WPGTalkRadio.com and the WPG Talk Radio app.
