Atlantic City Mayor Frank Gilliam stepped down from City Hall after pleading guilty in federal court.

Atlantic City's mayor has been cleared of criminal charges stemming from a fight outside a casino last year.

WPG's Harry Hurley has learned and confirmed that the state of New Jersey has seized total control of the City of Atlantic City from Mayor Frank Gilliam, who is currently under federal criminal investigation.

Councilman Jeffree Fauntleroy II also pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from a brawl last month outside the Gold Nugget Casino.
