Yesterday, we reported about an incident whereby a man tried to bring a handgun into the Atlantic City, New Jersey Courthouse, Civil Division … on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
The Atlantic County Sheriff’s Department has just revealed the identity of the man (allegedly) responsible and they have outlined the multitude of criminal charges filed against this man.
Arrested:
Noel Jones, age 53, from East Orange, New Jersey.
Jones is charged with:
- Unlawful possession of a firearm.
- Certain persons not permitted to possess.
- Possession of stolen property.
- Possession of a firearm in a courthouse.
These criminal charges are serious and have “teeth” under the law.
Jones is currently being lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
Prior to O’Donoghue becoming Sheriff, the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Department had given away its long-held responsibility of guarding all Atlantic County Courthouses.
O’Donoghue was very publicly vocal about how important it was for Hagen to take this core responsibility back.
The Atlantic County Sheriff’s Department is asking if you have any information about this, or, any crime to call them at (609) 909-7285.
You can report any information that you have on an anonymous basis … you do not have to reveal your identity.
Under Atlantic County Sheriff Joe O’Donoghue … over the past year … they have returned to the core functions of being law enforcement officers.
