Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald says a Genesis SUV driven by Siddartha Prasad Surapanani crossed over the intersection of Route 202 and First Avenue against the red light around 6:30 a.m. Witnesses told investigators Surapanani drover "erratically" and in the wrong directions before hitting the driver's side of an Acura SUV. The driver of the Genesis, Siddartha Prasad Surapanani, ran from the scene but was soon found and arrested. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries suffered in the crash and charged with second degree vehicular homicide, according to McDonald. He will taken to the Somerset County Jail.
