An Atlantic City Police officer is hospitalized and recovering from a stroke he suffered just after he became a first-time father.

His co-workers and family are asking for help with a GoFundMe campaign to help with medical bills.

Young Atlantic City Cop Suffers Stroke

Anthony Nastasi, a young man who joined the Atlantic City Police Department in 2022, is currently hospitalized after suffering a sudden stroke and beginning his long recovery process.

Nastasi is also a member of the U.S. Coast Guard, serving as a Boatswain's Mate.

Anthony became a first-time father in July, according to the GoFundMe, welcoming a beautiful two-week-old baby with his fiancée, Amy.

Unfortunately, instead of being able to enjoy this special time in his life, Nastasi is hospitalized

Police Officer's Fiancée Is Overseeing Husband's Recovery, Caring for Newborn

The GoFundMe, written by fellow ACPD Officer Nikolas Cardani, is heartbreaking.

What should have been one of the happiest times of their lives has instead become a period of fear, uncertainty, and mounting medical expenses.

As Anthony focuses on healing and rehabilitation, Amy is caring for their newborn while trying to manage hospital visits, medical decisions, and the everyday costs.

The financial strain of lost wages, therapy, and caring for a new baby is already significant.

How to Help This Family

If you would like to join the 385 people who have given over $38,000 toward the $55,000 goal as of Monday evening, you can click this link to the GoFundMe.

Any contribution—no matter the size—will help ease this family's burden and let Anthony concentrate on getting stronger and returning to the family and community that need him.
