James Comey Once Sang Beyoncé’s ‘Sandcastles’ During FBI Briefing
Everybody loves Beyoncé. But who knew that she had a fan in the Federal Bureau of Investigation?
Apparently, former FBI director James Comey is a fan of the R&B powerhouse. According to PBS, Comey brought up Queen Bey’s name during an FBI briefing he once received on a counterintelligence case called “Sandcastles.”
“They always have weird code names,” he reportedly said. “It was ‘Sandcastles,’ and so I said ‘Beyonce!’ And I was the only one in the room who had any idea what I was talking about. People were like ‘What?’ I said, 'We built sandcastles'... Honest to God, I sung like that.”
For those unfamiliar, "Sandcastles" is from Beyonce's 2016 album Lemonade. It's an emotional song that deals with heartbreak and pain, which many feel it's Bey singing about JAY-Z's infidelity.
In addition to Beyonce, Comey also listens to Kendrick Lamar, whom his children like a lot.
James Comey, who was fired by President Donald Trump in May 2017, is currently promoting his latest book A Higher Loyalty, which recounts his brief time under the Trump administration and offer his thoughts on the Russia investigations.
Meanwhile, Beyonce is gearing up for her On the Run Tour II with JAY-Z. The U.S. leg of the trek kicks off July 25 in Cleveland and wraps up Oct. 2 in Vancouver, BC. Peep her tour schedule here.
