Pomona, N.J. — The 177th Fighter Wing is planning to light up the skies over South Jersey Monday morning with F-16 flyovers at five locations to honor fallen service members on Memorial Day.

Keyword: "planning." Obviously, this weekend's lousy weather could impact those flights and even those festivities entirely.

Where and When to Look Up

All flyovers are weather permitting, and with a good chance of low clouds and fog, rain, and maybe even a thunderstorm, we're going to have to keep our fingers crossed.

Here's the current schedule:

  • Egg Harbor Township — 9:15 AM
  • Clayton — 10:06
  • Glassboro — 10:30
  • Linwood — 10:45
  • Longport — 11:15

Details for Each Town

Egg Harbor Township kicks things off at 9 AM with its Memorial Day parade and ceremony, with a Jersey Devils flyover scheduled for 9:15.

Clayton gets its parade started at 10:00 AM at the Clayton Acme, wrapping up with a memorial service at Cedar Green Cemetery and refreshments at the Clayton Elks Lodge. The Jersey Devils are scheduled overhead at 10:06.

Glassboro steps off at 10 AN as well, with its parade moving through downtown before a flyover scheduled for 10:30.

Linwood begins at 10 AM at Poplar Avenue, heading south down Shore Road to All Wars Memorial Park, with the Jersey Devils due at 10:45.

Longport closes things out at 11 AM with a parade stepping off from 33rd and Atlantic Avenues, winding down to Thomas B. Reed Park near the Longport Bridge. Teens will lead the way, handing out small American flags to children along the route. The 177th is scheduled overhead at 11:15.

If you're planning to watch, get outside early and keep an eye on the sky. And, hopefully, you won't need an umbrella.

Batsto Village and pine barrens lake trail — photos from April 2026

A family hike along the Batsto Lake Trail in Wharton State Forest, Burlington County, New Jersey — April 2026. The flat four-mile loop behind historic Batsto Village winds along the Batsto River and Lake through the heart of the Pine Barrens. The trail is easy, well-marked with white blazes, and accessible to hikers of all ages. Along the way — pitch pines, cedar water, spring wildflowers including a purple pitcher plant, and at least one unbothered garter snake.
