Landmark Atlantic City Pub and Inn Closes After Almost 160 Years
Atlantic City has a handful of businesses that have always been there no matter what. As of today, there is one less landmark in the world's playground.
A post on their Facebook page from Thursday morning says the Chelsea Pub and Inn in Atlantic City has shut its doors. No official reason for the closure was provided.
The Press of Atlantic City reports the pub was originally a bed and breakfast in the late 1850s and an illicit liquor store during prohibition.
Posts on the pub's Facebook page were a mixture of sadness over the bar's closing and concern as people who recently made reservations at the inn were worried about the status of deposits.
