A 33-year-old man from Brick Township, Ocean County, has been arrested on child porn charges.

Luis Castaneda-Contreras was arrested on Wednesday and charged with distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer.

Authorities say this investigation was the result of a referral from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children through the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Cops were notified that a home in Brick Township was the source of child porn pictures that were uploaded to the internet. On Wednesday, following an investigation, detectives with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit and the Brick Township Police Department executed a search warrant at Castaneda-Contreras’ home. There, according to Billhimer's office, cops seized multiple electronic devices that contained images of child pornography.

Castaneda-Contreras was arrested at his place of employment in Middletown, Monmouth County. He is currently being held in the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing in the near future.

Authorities remind the public that charges are merely accusations and everyone is reminded that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
