Cops in Hammonton say a man is recovering after having been shot twice in his backyard early Thursday morning.

According to the Hammonton Police Department, they received a 9-1-1 call around 5:11 Thursday morning in reference to a shooting on the 700 block of North 1st Rd.

Authorities continue the account,

Police and EMS responded and spoke with the victim, a 32 year old Hammonton resident. The victim stated that he exited the rear of his residence and heard a shot in the wooded area of the property. The victim then heard two subsequent shots and was struck twice by projectiles.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The Hammonton Police Department conducted a search of the area and they say there does not appear to be a public safety concern.
