Man Injured When His Car Hits a Boardwalk Ramp, Flips in Atlantic City
A one-vehicle accident in Atlantic City Tuesday night injured an Ocean County man when his car hit a boardwalk ramp and flipped over.
Cops say the accident happened just before 9:00 Wednesday night at Martin Luther King Blvd. and the Boardwalk. A 55-year-old man from Forked River, who was not identified by police in a press release, was traveling southbound on MLK Blvd. when his vehicle hit a boardwalk ramp, flipped over, then struck a building. Witnesses reported to officers that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck a light pole, a fire hydrant, and side-swiped a parked vehicle.
Officials say both the boardwalk and the building suffered damage in the accident. The driver was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City for treatment. The crash remains under investigation and no charges have yet been filed.
