A report from a concerned citizen regarding a man with a shotgun led to one arrest and the recovery of the weapon in Atlantic City Monday evening.

The Atlantic City Police Department says one of their detectives received information from a citizen about a man who was on Atlantic Avenue with a shotgun in his backpack.

An officer was able to locate the man, later identified as 57-year-old William Catrambone of Atlantic City, in the 1600 block of Atlantic Avenue. Catrambone, with a backpack, matched the description provided by the detective. Inside that backpack was a shotgun that was dismantled into two parts so it would fit, according to police.

Catrambone was arrested without incident at the scene. He was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and certain person not to possess a weapon; he was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
