A simple note on their door in Manahawkin says, "They're Closing."

The jewelry store is located at 12 East Bay Avenue in Manahawkin. A friend of mine went to their store the other day and told me about the note on their door.

Diamond Mine, a family run jewelry store, has been open for 46 years. The note on the door reads, "We will be closing July 31st, 2021." My friend spoke to the owners and there is no reason for their closing other than, it's time. It's time for their retirement.

When I found this out, I wanted to know if your romance started at Diamond Mine and so many of you wrote to me and told me about your proposals, engagement rings, and wedding rings that you bought from this jewelry store.

Danny from Barnegat says he purchased his wife's engagement ring there 25 years ago and it's still shining so brightly. It's still the best diamond he's ever seen.

Laura from Bayville was sharing how wonderful the owners are when her and her husband went in and were looking for their wedding rings. Their selection was great and their kindness was even better.

Tina from Little Egg Harbor also wrote me saying that's where her husband of 20 years bought her engagement ring and their wedding rings. They still think they're the prettiest set they've ever seen.

These messages warm my heart. This family business was in so many people's lives and they probably don't even know how much they were loved. It's always sad to see a family business close after so many years. Diamond Mine, enjoy your retirement and several listeners are wondering if there will be a sale before you close your doors?

"Thank YOU for the memories and all the love you brought to Ocean County."
