
Pedestrian Struck in Margate, NJ, Crosswalk; Driver is 84, Police Say
Margate City, N.J. — A 64-year-old woman is recovering after being hit by a vehicle Thursday afternoon in Margate.
Crash at Essex and Ventnor Avenues
The Margate City Police Department said that at about 5:45 PM, they received multiple 9-1-1 calls about a pedestrian-motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Essex and Ventnor Avenues.
Officers at the scene found a 64-year-old woman from Pennsylvania had been struck by a gray Hyundai Elantra traveling eastbound on Ventnor Avenue. The victim was attempting to cross the intersection in the crosswalk when the crash occurred, according to authorities.
She was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center and is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Hyundai was identified as 84-year-old Earlene Schoener of Margate.
Investigation Continues
Police say summonses are pending the outcome of the investigation.
