Atlantic City, N.J. — Two people were killed in a dirt bike-car crash on Route 40 in Atlantic City Thursday night.

The incident happened just before 9:45 on the eastbound side of Albany Avenue, not too far from Atlantic City High School.

BMW Struck Rear of Dirt Bike, Investigators Say

According to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office, a preliminary investigation determined 20-year-old Inzamamul Haque of Atlantic City was traveling eastbound on Route 40 in a BMW M2. In the area of 1600 N. Albany Ave., Haque struck the rear end of a Yamaha YZ250 dirt bike, which was also traveling eastbound.

2 Pronounced Dead at the Scene

The operator of the dirt bike, 21-year-old Baseem K. Taliaferro, Jr., from Galloway, and his passenger, 21-year-old Yasmeen R. Williams of Egg Harbor City, were ejected from the dirt bike and pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigation Continues

The investigation, which is being handled by the prosecutor's office and the Atlantic City Police Department, is ongoing.
