Northfield, N.J. — Heavy thunderstorms caused widespread flash flooding across large sections of Atlantic County Friday afternoon.
Doppler radar estimates that over three inches of rain fell in a short period of time, which quickly turned local roads into large lakes.
This was the scene along Tilton Road in Northfield, just west of Route 9 at about 1:30 PM. At least one vehicle was stranded in the water. Numerous other roadways in the area are closed.
