NWS Confirms Tornado Touched Down in Atlantic County Thursday
Estell Manor, N.J. — A brief tornado touched down in Atlantic County Thursday afternoon, lasting no more than 30 seconds and causing no reported damage or injuries.
The National Weather Service confirmed the twister touched down around 4:41 PM in a wooded and marshy area approximately four miles southeast of Estell Manor.
The tornado was captured on video shared to social media, shot from along the Great Egg Harbor River in the English Creek section of Egg Harbor Township looking toward Estell Manor.
Because the touchdown occurred in an inaccessible wooded and marshy area and no damage has been definitively linked to it, the NWS classified the storm as "EF-U" for "unknown," the lowest possible classification.
No path length or width could be determined.
