A Mays Landing man has been sentenced to three years behind bars on a drug charge.

On Tuesday, March 3rd, 26-year-old Antoyane McCall was sent to prison after pleading guilty to a charge of third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) with the intent to distribute.

On the afternoon of March 19th, 2025, officers with the Atlantic City Police Department witnessed McCall reaching into a plastic bag and attempting to remove an unknown substance while a woman simultaneously removed money from her pocket and began holding it up towards McCall, according to prosecutors.

Once McCall saw police vehicles nearby, he quickly stuffed the plastic bag back into a satchel, turned around, and began walking away from the woman.

At that point, detectives attempted to stop him; however, he began running northbound on Tennessee Avenue and then westbound on Atlantic Avenue toward Renaissance Plaza. After a brief foot pursuit, he surrendered to authorities.

He was found to have one digital scale containing CDS residue, packaged CDS heroin/fentanyl, cash in various denominations, and one plastic bag containing cocaine, which was consistent with what police had originally observed McCall remove from his satchel.

The Atlantic City Police Department investigated this case and Assistant Atlantic County Prosecutor Frank Vizzi represented the State.
