Mays Landing Man Facing Gun, Drug Charges
State Police say a man from Mays Landing is facing charges after he was arrested during a traffic stop last Friday night.
22-year-old Jermaine Philo of Mays Landing was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm while committing a CDS offense, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of marijuana, money laundering, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to troopers, Philo was stopped for a traffic violation in Hamilton Township around 9:30 last Friday night. During the stop, it was discovered that Philo had an active criminal warrant; he was arrested without incident.
Police say, "After further investigation, troopers discovered that Philo was in possession of a 9mm caliber handgun, more than 320 grams of marijuana, and more than $6,570 cash."
He was lodged at the Atlantic County Jail pending a detention hearing.
