
Crash Between Teen on E-bike and Cadillac Closes Busy NJ Highway for 2 Hours
- A teen on an e-bike collided with an SUV on Route 40
- Teenager was not wearing a helmet, according to police
- Police are still investigating the crash
Teen Injured in E-Bike Collision on Route 40
Only minor injuries were reported following a collision between a teenager on an e-bike and a Cadillac on a busy South Jersey highway Saturday night.
Crash Occurs Near Walmart Drive in Hamilton Township
The accident happened just after 9 PM on Route 40 near Walmart Drive in Mays Landing, according to Hamilton Township Police.
Authorities say a preliminary investigation revealed a 2014 Cadillac Escalade being driven by 55-year-old Khemchand Seepersad of Millville, and an e-bike being driven by a 17-year-old man from Mays Landing, were both headed eastbound on Route 40 when the collision occurred.

Teen Not Wearing Helmet, Taken to Hospital
The teenager was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City for evaluation.
Seepersad was not injured and was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Route 40 was closed for about two hours while the scene was cleared.
Investigation Ongoing, Witnesses Sought
Police say charges are pending further investigation.
