Two people from Middle Township have been arrested on child abuse charges.

Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland and Middle Township Police Chief Christopher Leusner say Bradford Artis, 26, and Shannon Artis, 38, have been arrested, following an investigation by the Middle Township Police Department and the Cape May County Prosecutor's Special Victims Unit.

Sutherland says each have been charged with two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, two counts of Aggravated Assault, and one count of Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.

Sutherland says the investigation involved two juvenile victims. Bother Bradford and Shannon are being held in the Cape May County Jail.

If found guilty, each could be sentenced to 5 - 10 years in prison on the Endangering charge, and 3 - 5 years on the other charges.

Sutherland says the investigation is on-going.
