Miley Cyrus has responded to the backlash over her recent "gay" comments.

The "Slide Away" singer found herself at the center of another controversy after she made some questionable remarks about her sexuality on Sunday (October 20) during an Instagram Live — and now, she's clarified what she meant when she told her fans "you don't have to be gay" because "there are good men out there."

"I was talking shit about sucky guys, but let me be clear. YOU don't CHOOSE your sexuality. You are born as you are," she tweeted. "It had always been my priority to protect the LQBTQ community I am part of."

In case you missed it, the internet was understandably upset after Cyrus implied being gay is a choice. "There are good men out there, guys, don't give up," she said, seemingly throwing shade at Liam Hemsworth.

"You don't have to be gay, there are good people with d--ks out there, you've just got to find them. You've got to find a d--k that's not a d--k, you know?" she continued. "I always thought I had to be gay because I thought all guys were evil, but it's not true. There are good people out there that just happen to have d--ks."

"I've only ever met one, and he's on this Live," referring to boyfriend Cody Simpson.
