Motorcycle Rider Ejected in Crash With Car in Egg Harbor Township, NJ
The Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey Police Department has confirmed that a motorcycle rider collided with an automobile … causing the rider to be ejected from his motorcycle … resulting in serious injuries for the rider.
The Egg Harbor Township Police Department said:
On Sunday, June 9", 2024 at approximately 0009 hours, The Egg Harbor Township Police Department responded to the intersection of Fire Road and Easy Street for the report of a motor vehicle crash involving a sedan and a motorcycle. Initial investigation revealed that a 2004 Yamaha YZF Motorcycle operated by Leonardo Castrochacon was traveling south on Fire Road approaching the intersection with Tilton Road. A 2023 Kia Forte operated by Quashawn Hawkins was traveling east on Easy Street and was stopped at the intersection with Fire Road. Hawkins attempted to conduct a left-hand turn onto Fire Road north bound and turned into the path of Castrochacon. Castrochacon struck the rear driver's side of Hawkins's vehicle ejecting him from the motorcycle.
The Egg Harbor Township Police Department has also confirmed that Castrochacon sustained serious injuries from the crash. He was treated on scene by :
- Egg Harbor Township EMS.
- Atlantic Care Paramedics.
Castrochacon was transported to the AtlanticCare Medical Center Trauma Unit.
Hawkins was not injured in the crash.
The Egg Harbor Township Police Department has not as yet issued summonses at this time.
This crash is being investigated by Egg Harbor Township Police Department Officers Nathan Lahr of the Traffic Safety Unit and Officer Cody Ng.
