United States Congressman Donald Norcross, D-NJ-1 has been flown back home from North Carolina to New Jersey.

Norcross is now a temporary resident at Cooper University Health Care in Camden City, New Jersey.

No one ever wants to spend time as a patient in a hospital … however, if you must … it’s always preferable to be staying at a hospital where your brother (George Norcross) is the Executive Chairman of The Board.

Details are being kept a little sketchy. It appears that Donald Norcross had a health emergency in North Carolina last weekend … likely a gallbladder issue.

Norcross was taken to UNC Rex Hospital in North Carolina for emergency care.

When you hear about a health issue involving the gallbladder … the first thing that you think about is that it is both simple and routine in nature.

As a Nurse Dad, I can tell you that this is not always the case. A gallbladder issue can lead to significant complications … even sepsis, which can travel through the blood and other tissues …  that can attack various organs and lead to shock and worse.

There is no confirmation about Donald Norcross experiencing sepsis.

Norcross is currently in the Cooper University intensive care and is said to be in stable condition.

Here is the latest update from Congressman Norcross’ office:

Congressman Donald Norcross was transferred to Cooper University Health Care in Camden City. He is in intensive care and stable. He is tired but glad to be back in South Jersey. His condition is improving, and he is on his way to making a full recovery. Donald wants to thank everyone who has sent well wishes and prayers to him, his staff and family. He also wants to thank again all the medical staff at both UNC Rex and Cooper University Hospital.

For these reasons, keep Donald Norcross in your thoughts and prayers … until you see him walk out of the doors of Cooper University Health Care.
