There is an immediate need for hospice volunteers in New Jersey. Without these real life heroes, there will be people who will spend the last days of their lives all alone.

That makes these volunteers very special people, who provide a very important service.

For example, Bayada Hospice is an organization that is filling this monumental need … however, they need our help to attract new volunteers to step-up and lend their support.

Be the voice in someone's silence and the light in their darkness. - Donna Leder

Leder added, “Because in the end, it's not about how much time we have — it's about how we spend it. And your time could be the greatest gift someone receives,” said Leder.

Have You Ever Wondered?

What does it mean to make a difference in someone’s life?

Bayada Hospice believes that you can make a difference today.

You can do so by volunteering and spending time sitting with a patient. You can hold their hand … you can just lend a helpful ear and listen.

Here’s How You Can Volunteer

For those interested in becoming a Bayada hospice volunteer, you may contact Donna Leder, Volunteer Training Coordinator, at (856) 904-5336 or by email at dleder@bayada.com.

Volunteers Offer Comfort

No one expects you to have all of the answers. You can offer comfort in so many beautiful ways, including:

  • Reiki
  • pet therapy
  • gentle massage
  • hair and nail care
  • read to a patient
  • play music
  • run a errand
  • sit quietly

If you choose to volunteer, you will be spending meaningful, quality time with someone who likely does not have much time left.
