A man, who is currently indicted on a 2017 murder, has been arrested in connection to a murder that happened in Atlantic City in the summer of 2010.

Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner says in the early morning hours of July 6, 2010, Atlantic City Police received a 911 call from a person who reported hearing numerous gunshots in the area of the 1000 block of Sewell Avenue. Responding officers found 26-year-old Saleem Tolbert lying in an upright position on the steps in front of 1012A Sewell Avenue. Tolbert had sustained multiple gunshots wounds and was pronounced dead.

Over the past nine years, numerous witness interviews have taken place and a suspect, 33-year-old Lorin Wright, was identified. On October 4th of this year, Wright was arrested for murder and weapons offenses.

In a press release, Tyner said,

It is believed that a prior dispute was the motivation for this senseless killing. Mr. Wright is currently indicted in the murder of Keith Cundiff in Atlantic City on May 5, 2017. Mr. Wright was served notice that he has been charged with Murder and various weapons offenses, at a recent court appearance. It should be noted that the incident he is pending trial on is totally unrelated to Mr. Tolbert’s death.

Authorities say Wright was 24-years-old when he murdered Tolbert. Tolbert and Wright were acquainted with each other.

Wright remains lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
