Senator O’Scanlon wrote the following blunt assessment of the situation on his Facebook page late yesterday:

Caldwell resigning doesn't end this...NOT EVEN CLOSE. Sherrill's handpicked LG is gone...but now we know her campaign was apparently warned about him BEFORE THE ELECTION...by a woman who worked with him at Centenary...and instead of actually hearing her out, she says they ghosted her, blocked her and exposed her identity. That's outrageous.
So who knew? Who made those decisions? And is anyone involved now working in this administration? Because if anyone currently in the Sherrill administration had ANYTHING to do with blowing off —or exposing—a woman trying to warn them about Caldwell..they need to be fired. Period. Sherrill's campaign had an opportunity to stop this debacle before it ever started. They didn't. Caldwell may be gone...but we're sure as hell not burying what happened here, wrote O’Scanlon.
