One Arrested for Robbery, One Arrested for Warrants in Atlantic City
Cops in Atlantic City found themselves rather busy during the early morning hours of Wednesday.
The ACPD says their officers responded to the 7-Eleven at 1500 Pacific Avenue for a report of a robbery around 2:45AM. According to a press release, 42-year-old Bruce Savateri, Jr., of Egg Harbor Township, entered the store and brought an item to the counter. Savateri handed payment to the clerk and when the cash register opened, Savateri leaned over the counter and grabbed money from the register. Savateri fled the scene in a car.
About a half hour later, other officers located Savateri’s vehicle at South Carolina and Pacific Avenues where he was taken into custody without incident. His passenger, 48-year-old Kathryn Putney of Atlantic City, was also arrested after she was found to have several active warrants.
Savateri, Jr., was charged with robbery, theft, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Putney was charged with contempt of court. Both were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
