A man, who cops say was trespassing in a high-rise apartment building in Atlantic City with a loaded gun, was arrested without incident Monday morning in the city.

19-year-old Oscar Euceda of Atlantic City was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon following the incident and he is being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

According to the Atlantic City Police Department, Ofcs. Auttika Taing and Corey Treadway responded to the Lighthouse Plaza Apartments in the 300 block of Atlantic Avenue around 9:00 Moonday morning for the report of a man that was trespassing. Police say Euceda was not a resident of the apartment building and had previously been evicted.

They say,

Officers Taing and Treadway found Euceda in the laundry room on the 18th floor of the building. Euceda was attempting to hide behind a washing machine. The officers asked Euceda to exit the laundry room and speak with them. Euceda refused, would not cooperate and turned away from the officers. The officers moved in, detained Euceda and attempted to speak with him. Euceda refused to remove his hand from his pant pocket. After removing his hand, officers located a loaded handgun.
